CaminoSoft Announces Membership in HP’s Information Lifecycle Management Partner Program

May 18, 2004
WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)—--May 18, 2004-- CaminoSoft Corporation (OTC.BB:CMSF - News), a leading provider of Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) solutions for Microsoft Windows 2000 and Novell NetWare environments, announced that it has become a member of the HP’s Information Lifecycle Management Partner Program.

CaminoSoft’s Managed Server HSM™ software provides a cost-effective solution for automatically handling reference file dispersal and retention based on a consistent set of administrative management policies. By combining the software with the HP StorageWorks solutions and services portfolio, organizations can simplify and better control the provisioning and utilization of their data storage resources.

Richard Krueger, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at CaminoSoft, stated, "Our mission—to deliver a comprehensive portfolio of advanced ILM solutions—runs parallel with HP's Adaptive Enterprise strategy and solutions. We are enthusiastic about our newly formed relationship and look forward to participating in HP's ILM Partner Program. As a vendor providing storage management support for Windows 2000 and NetWare & GroupWise environments, CaminoSoft is dedicated to helping our customers increase business productivity, facilitate regulatory compliance, and leverage their substantial investment in IT infrastructure.”

The Company’s ILM software enables administrators to specify retention/deletion criteria and control the location of files as they move through their lifecycle, beginning with high-performance storage, transitioning to less-expensive disk arrays, and eventually ending in off-line archives. This is especially important for facilitating compliance with requirements and regulations in several industries, most notably banking, finance, and healthcare. From a daily operations viewpoint, the software can dramatically increase storage utilization and reduce backup (and restore) time since only active files and reference file pointers remain resident on more costly storage area network resources.

“One of the keys to implementing an efficient and cost effective ILM strategy is the power to consistently control policies associated with file storage and deletion, while ensuring compliance with necessary data retention regulation,” said Rusty Smith, Director of Information Lifecycle Management, Technology Solutions Group, HP. “As such, HP is pleased to add CaminoSoft’s Managed Server HSM software capabilities to our portfolio of ILM solutions, as it will enhance our customers’ ability to manage data throughout its lifecycle.”
