WESTLAKE VILLAGE,
Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)—May 3, 2005--CaminoSoft Corp.(OTC.BB:CMSF
-
News),
a leading provider of Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) solutions for Microsoft
Windows 200X and Novell NetWare & GroupWise environments, announced today that its ILM suite has been certified for use
with BiTMICRO Networks’ E-Disk® Solid State Disk Storage Subsystems.
CaminoSoft’s Managed Server HSM™ Software provides a cost-effective solution for
managing growing storage requirements. The software optimizes storage resource utilization by relocating
seldom-accessed files from SAN subsystems to a lower-cost storage pool, including ATA/RAID disk arrays, tape
or optical libraries, and EMC Centera. It gives system administrators a powerful tool for automatically migrating
data at desired operational timeframes while dramatically reducing the amount of time needed for backup and recovery.
From a user’s perspective, files retain all of their attributes and appear in their original directories, regardless
of the storage tier in which they are located.
According to Richard Krueger, VP of Marketing & Alliances at CaminoSoft, “We are very pleased that
BiTMICRO Networks has certified the E-Disk SSD subsystem for use with our ILM software suite. By combining
Managed Server HSM with E-Disk, administrators are able to readily create policies that differentiate seldom-accessed
‘reference’ files from frequently-accessed ‘production’ files, controlling where these files ultimately reside over
their lifetime. As a result, reference files can be automatically migrated to a central storage pool for a policy-based
period of time, while production files remain resident on E-Disk SSD subsystem. Compared to traditional disk drives,
E-Disk’s substantially lower latency and faster data transfer rate ensure that in-demand files can be accessed quickly.”
Rudy Bruce, President of BiTMICRO Networks, said, “Enterprises are relying more on storage management solutions in
their bid to reduce administrative costs and maximize their ROI on data storage. Acquiring CaminoSoft certification for
our E-Disk product line reinforces BiTMICRO’s commitment of delivering the benefits of solid state disk technology to
heterogeneous storage environments.”
