WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif--March
20, 2006 --CaminoSoft Corp. (OTC.BB:CMSF - News)
, today announced that CA (NYSE:CA) has extended its technology OEM licensing agreement with CaminoSoft and will incorporate NetWare support into its BrightStor HSM solution.
BrightStor HSM is a policy-driven solution for managing the complexities of storage management for Windows and NetWare environments. By providing transparent migration of files between tiers of storage hardware, it enables customers to maintain access to files for compliance and business operation purposes, while limiting the volume of data kept on production servers. This can dramatically improve recovery and backup times, resulting in a more resilient storage environment.
“Given today’s data retention requirements, IT organizations need to more effectively control the growth of their first-tier storage capacity by automatically and intelligently managing information as its business value decreases,” said Mark Newberry, vice president of BrightStor product marketing at CA. “By including CaminoSoft’s HSM technology for Novell into our storage management portfolio, CA is enabling customers to fulfill this key IT requirement across their heterogeneous enterprise environments.”
BrightStor HSM for NetWare follows CA’s initial development and roll-out of BrightStor HSM, based on CaminoSoft’s Managed Server HSM for Windows 2000/2003.
“CaminoSoft is pleased to be one of CA’s technology partners and support its Windows- and NetWare-based storage management initiatives in the ILM space,” said Stephen Crosson, chief operating officer and chief financial officer at CaminoSoft. “The ability to set up and control policies from a common admin console, manage multi-node server clusters in either O/S environment, and handle file migration transparently across an unlimited number of storage tiers is essential for small/medium business and enterprise accounts.”
