, today announced results for its fiscal second quarter ended March 31, 2006 -- reflecting strong OEM, technology and channel partner interest for the company’s Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) software products and the impact of longer cycle times for solution identification, proposal, evaluation and implementation.
For the fiscal second quarter, the company reported a net loss of $335,332, or $0.02 per share, compared with a net loss of $207,954, or $0.02 per share a year ago. Net sales for the same period were $520,010 compared with $627,961 last year.
For the current six months, the company reported a net loss of $556,868, or $0.04 per share, compared with a net loss of $466,764, or $0.03 per share a year ago. Net sales for the same period were $990,224 compared with $1,199,711 last year.
“As we indicated in the first quarter, CaminoSoft is experiencing solid ongoing demand from its business partners for storage management software solutions that address the ever-increasing demand for storage capacity. The first half of fiscal 2006 has been a transition period for the company, with a strategic focus on capitalizing on our key partnerships to generate enterprise class opportunities that offer significant upside potential for the company,” said Stephen W. Crosson, chief financial officer and chief operating officer.
He noted that ILM solutions remain a growing focus of IT managers seeking to intelligently manage data availability, compliance and storage resources, and the company anticipates that its sales pipeline will translate into enhanced financial performance in the second half of fiscal 2006.
Crosson emphasized the company’s second quarter announcement that CA has extended its OEM licensing agreement with CaminoSoft for NetWare support and branding as a CA BrightStor HSM solution. He stressed that CaminoSoft continues to benefit as a certified partner of EMC and IBM, as well as from the ongoing addition of systems integrators as Premier Channel Partners worldwide. He also highlighted another important development in the second quarter concerning the expansion of the Company’s Europe-Middle East-Africa (EMEA) region operations with the appointment of two UK-based executives. “These developments underscore management’s focus and confidence regarding the potential for the company and the inherent future opportunities that we envision for success,” Crosson said.
